Don Preston has recently (August 99) played three gigs at the Los Angeles County Museum. The shows were very well received. The LA Weekly magazine gave Preston's solo shows an impressive review. There is a possibility that Bunk Gardner and Don Preston will perform the Don & Bunk show in Conneticut early November '99. Watch this page for updates on this historic gig. Jimmy Carl Black has some new CD releases pending: Farrell & Black Black
Limousine on Stormy Monday Records, Germany, and Got Any Beer? a follow up to When Do We Get Paid? rarities CD. Check out his website at http://www.jimmycarlblack.com. Bunk Gardner has recently been teaching a various conservatories in Los Angeles. The obscured ex-Mother Jeff Simmons is alive and kicking, check out his new website: http://people.delphi.com/3jp/simmons2.html.
Ex-Zappa vocalist Suzannah Harris has recently released her first solo CD entitled Thanatopsis, a uniquely inventive album that showcases Thana's incredible vocal abilities and songwriting. It's available through her website at http://www.thanaharris.com.
Hey folks, check out Suzannah Harris's new book, too! Here's her press
release.

Attention Frank Zappa Fans and Collectors
Suzannah (Thana) Harris, former vocalist for Frank Zappa and Steve
Vai, has written a new book about her life experiences with the late Frank Zappa genius: Under the Same Moon: Life With Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Bob Harris, and a Community of Other Artistic Souls.
Read this first-hand, personal account of how Thana, a virtually unknown vocalist, met, worked with and learned from Frank Zappa, Steve
Vai, and also married one of Zappa's band members, Bob Harris!
This intriguing story will introduce you to the lady who accomplished what former vocalists could not: the vocal performances on the Frank Zappa recording of Sleep Dirt. Read about her work with Steve
Vai, her work and romance with Bob Harris, and finally, life with Steve Vai, Bob Harris, and a number of artists who lived together at the infamous Wayward Inn, Steve Vai's house in Sylmar, California. (Note: The Ant-Bee also lived there at one time.) Under the Same Moon: a never-before released story which is also Thana Harris' debut as a literary writer. You will love her honesty, her humor, her passion for life.
See Mailorder Muck for ordering details!!!
